The New 2027 Mercedes-AMG GT 4-Door Coupé Debuts as a 1,169-Horsepower Electric Super Sedan.
Affalterbach, Germany – May 20, 2026 – Mercedes-AMG has unveiled the all-new GT 4-Door Coupé, marking a historic turning point for the performance brand. For the first time, the AMG GT 4-Door enters a new era as a fully electric high-performance vehicle, combining groundbreaking technology with the unmistakable character expected from Affalterbach.
Built on the dedicated AMG.EA electric performance platform, the new GT 4-Door Coupé has been engineered from the ground up to deliver extreme power, rapid charging capabilities, and long-distance usability. Mercedes-AMG describes the model as a vehicle designed to offer “revolutionary performance and maximum intensity,” and its specifications certainly support that claim.
At the heart of the flagship GT 63 variant is an advanced three-motor powertrain utilizing axial-flux electric motors, a technology previously reserved for ultra-high-performance applications. Two motors are mounted at the rear axle, while a third powers the front axle, creating an intelligent all-wheel-drive system capable of delivering astonishing levels of acceleration and traction.
The result is a staggering output of up to 1,169 horsepower and 2,000 Nm of torque, allowing the electric AMG to sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in approximately 2.1 seconds. Top speed reaches 300 km/h when equipped with the optional AMG Driver’s Package, placing the new model among the fastest electric sedans ever produced.
Power is supplied by a newly developed high-performance battery featuring direct cell cooling technology inspired by Formula 1. The 800-volt electrical architecture not only enhances efficiency but also enables some of the fastest charging speeds currently available in the automotive industry. Mercedes-AMG claims the battery can recover approximately 460 kilometers of driving range in just 10 minutes under ideal charging conditions.
Despite its extraordinary performance, the GT 4-Door Coupé remains a practical grand tourer. Depending on specification, the vehicle can travel nearly 700 kilometers on the WLTP cycle, making it suitable for both long-distance journeys and high-speed performance driving.
Visually, the new model adopts a dramatically different design language compared to its predecessor. A sleek fastback silhouette, aerodynamic bodywork, and a distinctive illuminated front fascia emphasize its electric identity while preserving the aggressive stance expected from an AMG flagship. The vehicle achieves an impressive drag coefficient of approximately 0.22, contributing to both efficiency and high-speed stability.
Inside, the cabin introduces the latest generation of Mercedes-Benz digital technology. A large integrated display system, powered by the new MB.OS operating platform, provides advanced connectivity, performance monitoring, and driver-focused functionality. Premium materials and AMG-specific details reinforce the model’s luxury credentials while maintaining a distinctly sporting atmosphere.
Recognizing the emotional connection enthusiasts have with traditional AMG powertrains, engineers have also developed an immersive sound and vibration experience designed to recreate some of the excitement associated with the brand’s legendary V8-powered models. The system generates dynamic audio feedback and simulated drivetrain sensations to enhance driver engagement.
The launch of the all-electric GT 4-Door Coupé represents one of the most significant moments in AMG’s history. Rather than adapting an existing Mercedes-Benz EV, the company has created a purpose-built performance machine intended to redefine expectations for electric sports sedans.
With record-breaking power figures, next-generation battery technology, and a bold new design, the 2026 Mercedes-AMG GT 4-Door Coupé signals the beginning of a new chapter for AMG—one where electrification and extreme performance coexist without compromise.
